  1. Co2 Tanks Rusting Away

The fire suppression tanks on my 50C are rusted away at their bases. They need replacing or a new system needs to be installed. Anyone have suggestions on what to do? What kind of tanks they are? Or what would be a good replacement system? Thanks for any help.

  2. Noisy A/C's

My wanted to ask this question. What have other owners done to make their A/C units less noisy? I think it's the blowers she's hearing but then again I'm hard of hearing. We have. 58' YF. Thanks,

  5. Fuel Filter Change Interval

I'll probably change these any way, but thought I'd get others' thoughts. When I first bought my 48MY 9 years ago, the fuel system was dirty enough that I experienced unexpected shut downs. I added vacuum gages to avoid surprises and get ahead of the issue and now I guess it is pretty well...

  6. 120 volt fresh water pump- is yours electrically interfaced to the water tank gauge ?

In my case Flotec FP4012-10 pump. Pump appears as new but no power getting to it. Runs perfectly when powered from alternative source of power....nothing wrong with pump or its pressure switch. Found the positive wire was running thru a relay hidden behind the maze of wiring behind circuit...

  7. Now where the heck did I put those oil filters?

Decided to change the oil in the mains today, I went to the auto parts store and bought 5 gal pails of Rotella CF2 40 wt - 87 bucks each. WTF? Last time I bought it it was around 60. Checked the good old boys at WM - 122 bucks each for the exact same bucket of oil. LOL. Anyway, got back to...

  10. Glendenning Question

Can you safely engage your synchronizer with both throttles advanced and then pull the slave throttle back ? The reason i ask is, the only way i can get my boat to plane off is with the synch off and both throttles to the pins for a short time. Thanks as always in advance Art

  11. Smile 53ED Bonding

Hi All - I have read inside and outside the forum on the issue of bonding - and can see at least two firmly held opinions. The PO of my 89 boat made sure that no thru-hull fitting was bonded to anything. I'm in the middle of servicing repairing all these fittings and would appreciate help in how to...

  12. OOPS...time to pull those HEs!

We were out for 4 days cruising and several WOT checks resulted in engine coolant temps going north of 195 after only 5 minutes. So it's time for the HE cleaning... Not sure I'll do it now or in the fall but, as I said on a different thread, I've found that on our boat, it really requires a...

  15. Modern Maid Oven

I've got the OEM Oven/Cooktop from 1981 and can't for the life of me figure out how to turn on the oven. The burners all work. The fan above the oven works. We even had an appliance repairman come and push a bunch of buttons, turn on the oven and say, it's fine. I've never been able to...

  16. oil leak on 12v71

My captain informed me I have an small oil leak by the valve cover. This is on my 12v71 starboard engine only. Do any of you have speculation what may cause this? Serious or not? I have a work order with major engine mechanic to access it, however, it may take a week or so to get him out. Engine...

  17. Follow up on the Cruisair R22 topic....latest insight

To recap, the salon compressor was freezing up as well as both the air handler evaporator coils that were powered by that one compressor/condenser. This tuned out to be mostly because one of the two handler fans was not functioning. Freed up the stuck fan and the situation greatly improved. Now...

  18. Boston Whaler Dauntless 13 w/ 40 hp Honda OB work as a single davit hauled dinghy ?

Hauled unto the aft flybridge chocks of a 65 footer with Marquipt 1000 lb capacity davit ? Best I can tell the boat weights 650 lbs, motor 214 lbs...but with some fuel and "stuff" might be approaching the capacity of the davit. 19. Thermostats
