Can zincs deterioriate when the boat is out of the water? I SWEAR the rudder zincs on Brigadoon are noticeably less "there" than they were when she was hauled in November (no, I don't think anyone stole them and replaced them with worse zincs). Is this possible or is it merely a faulty memory...

I was changing the zincs on the front of the engines and found that one is 2" long on the inlet side and the other on the outlet side was over three inches which protruded into the water flow. Does this make sense? Or should they both be two inches?

Was changing the zincs and noticed that a couple of them seem to have broken ends when I removed them. Question if there are small pieces in there will they self desolve or should I some how try to get them out?

In fresh water on the potomac, just use normal zincs? What about bottom paint...is abalative a no-no? Plan to cruise in salt at times, but most life will be fresh to brackish. Only when we have dry summers do we get some barnacles here, but usually just the green scum

Hello, it seems like we are going through the rudder’s zincs without loosing zinc on the shafts. What does that mean? Any suggestion as to what you would do? Should I remove the bond to the rudder’s? is it true that the shaft should be isolated from the circuits of the boat? thanks

I'm looking for the location of all the zincs on 8V92 TA's (not TI's) with the big cylindrical Sen-Dure heat exchangers. I have found five zincs on each heat exchanger but I find none anywhere else. Anyone out there have these engines and know if there should be more? Thanks.
