Well hello guys! It’s been a while but I’m back in the big boat world again. Hope you are all well! Has anyone with Cat 3406E updated the engine data to allow all the engine data to show on new garmin units ?

  2. 53, 58 15'10" outside electric cable hook ups

We are in the process of preparing the boat for new paint. I have four electrical hookups in front of each salon door. From what I have read on the forum, it seems to me I will never need any of them except the 220v with the 50 amp line. How involved is it to take out the other three lines and...

  3. Gc 8

Just wanted to share a bit of information that I had trouble finding about GC8 golf cart batteries. They will easily crank a 12V71 in a 32 volt bank of 4. I was told they would but only found one person who had done it. I am in Florida so I can't attest to cold weather performance. The 8V21's on...

  4. 1981 Hatteras 43c Prop Shafts

Good morning. I have a question about the prop shafts on our 1981 Hatteras 43c. I noticed there is a large (possibly a coupler) about 2 1/2' up from the props on the shaft. It is about 10" long and has 4 recessed bolts on it. Is this a coupler that attaches two shafts together? I am not...

  5. 240v 50Hz / 60Hz -- LRC

So, I'm looking at the electrical panel of a 1982 65 LRC (in France), and it shows "Source 1" and "Source 2" AND it shows 50Hz/60Hz. Now, I know there's a difference between EU 240v 50Hz and 240v US 60Hz... And I know there's all kinds of 'stuff' ( a technical term ) that would need to be done to...

  8. House water system start-up

This past May I gave my 1979 43DC to my nephew and his family. I had not used the pressure water system in 20 years - only used the marina's dock side water. I did drain the tank before shutting it down. Now the nephew wants to use the system. What things should he check and look for? Any thoughts?...

  14. Older Hatteras Insurance

Question for all of you long time Hatteras Owners: are there any insurance companies that you can recommend for the older Hatts?
