  4. Modern Maid "Smokeless Broiler"

The original Modern Maid unit works great and still looks (almost) new cause it was taken care of over the years but the broiler doesn't seem to work. 6. What year did Hatteras start using balsa cored hull sides?

I have a question about the build of Hatteras's hull sides. In what year did Hatteras start using balsa wood cored hull sides in their convertibles? I have heard many different years prior to becoming a member of this great forum. I knew someone on here, more like multiple people would know...

  7. Detroit diesel closed loop cooling questions

    1) what level should I fill the cooling water reservoir tank up to? I have given different answers. Fill to the top or fill to about an inch (1/2 of index finger) to the top?2) my delivery captain told me to fill the reservoir with water. Shouldn’t I fill with 50/50 water and antifreeze? Or maybe...

  8. Salt water wash down pump

On our 48LRC we have a 110v salt water wash down for the anchor. I can manually close the starter relay and make the pump run, but I do not have any 12 volt at the switch or relay. I cannot find any fuse or breaker for the 12 volt that operates the coil in the relay.

  9. Over Heating Problem Solved, I Think

Just wanted to bring everyone up to date on my over heating problem. I changed the thermostat this weekend and checked with the temp gun at the housing which holds the thermostat and it checked out at 168 to 170 deg. It was a 170 deg. thermostat I replaced. Checked the starboard engine and was...

I need to replace a tach (SB tach doesn't go over 2000RPM) , 2 fuel gauges (1965 model gauge not compatible with new tanks), and a water temp (P side doesn't work... ) I would hate to see portion of the gauges to be original Hatt gauges, and the rest...

  12. Smile Spring Paint Touch ups

Gents, I am new to Hatteras yachts and was wondering if it is a regular ritual for all Hatteras owners to touch up the paint in various spots to maintain the integrity of the coating. If so, is this something that can be done by a non-professional with a bit of practice. Appreciate your thoughts....

  14. Alternator Quite Charging

I rebuilt (seals) a racor today and after starting up I noticed the Alt/Gen not charging, I know its not related but I read on one of the threads that a stuck fuel pressure switch to the hobbs could cause this ? Gauge seems to be working indicating 32 when key on but not charging when motor...

  15. Toy Report/ Cutoff Tool

I recently purchased and used a Dremel 1 & 1/2" Dia Metal Cutoff tool and I hereby report it worked great! 18. How low are you

Just checking to see where your 43DC 's sit in the water. Mine sits with the exhaust pipes above the water. The painted waterline is about 3 inches above the actual waterline at rest. I assume this is a result of it having been repowered with 4 stroke Volvo's that are much lighter than the...

  19. Dishwasher breaker size.....

Anyone know what amperage the dishwasher breaker is? There are no markings on the lever side of it, nor visible on the back. I assume there are markings when you take it out, but I'm trying to skip that step. Thanks.

Our Sea Recovery watermaker went black on the way up to Sandy Hook and we need a tech to fix it for us. We had hoped to be independent of shore as much as possible this summer as we made our first trip to New England and having a working watermaker is essential. We are now in Oyster Bay and...
