  1. WTH do I do with this?

My 55c was missing 200-250 RPM's under load, heavy soot on transom and the horizon. Had props pulled, shop calls to inform the port wheel is 27x28, the starboard 27x30. I did note the starboard was slower to accelerate, by tach, but at wide open port was 2100, starboard 2150. Recommendations on...

  4. Raw Water Routing 52c

Hello all, I'm in the process of hooking up everything to our 8v92's and my brain is having trouble with the raw water circuit. I would assume that the flow would be from strainer, straight into raw water pump and then out to the remainder. But it looks like maybe it is supposed to hit the...

  6. Electronics Recommendations & Resource

Hi All- After careful consideration (thanks for the advice we received here), we've decided our best move is to keep our beloved 1978 53' Classic and upgrade her electronics for cruising and let the gods of diesel fuel be damned! We're looking for full multi-function navigation suite...

  7. Algae-x fuel conditioners

I know this issue has been the subject of prior postings but here is another. About two months ago I was returning from a trip in rough seas when the starboard engine started loosing RPMs and showing signs of fuel starvation. Switching fuel tanks and racors did not solve the problem but the engine...

  8. HVAC gauges

I am thinking about purchasing a set of gauges so I can top off my own cruisair units. Does any one else do this? What is a good brand / type of gauge? Cost? Can you buy the proper refrigerant? Of course I will read up and learn how to do the maintenance so I don't ruin anything.

  12. Prop Specs?

I'm trying to get the specs for the props on my 46 Hatteras but am having no joy when I Google the numbers that are stamped into the hubs. I'm not sure if they are part #'s, serial #'s or ??? They are the only numbers that I could find on the props. Is it possible to get the specs based on these?

  14. Hatteras Bilge Sprinkler System: Or How I Learned to Love Oak Plugs

I am remodeling my after bilges and steering deck area. After repainting, I really didn’t like the look of the old plastic cockpit drain hoses sagging and looking pretty much like crap. So, I decided to remove them and re-plumb with PVC. I did a pretty good job, if I say so myself. I...

  16. Inverter Bank Enclosure

Our 43DC has eight six volt batteries in a painted plywood box between our transmissions from a previous owner. Our surveyor said it needs to be water tight. I'm not finding a 8 battery marine battery box. 4 twin 6v boxes are doable, but kinda bulky. Can anyone share their thoughts on a proper...

  17. Battery watering system

I know this has been discussed before, but I just got a battery watering system from Powerstride battery in San Diego. $128.00 for a 16 cap system and $35.00 for a 2.5 gallon tank. Simple to install. They set up the caps to the batteries you have to regulate how full they get. Has a quick...

Hello, I understand from this forum the issue with engine (8V71TI in my case) oil leaking through seal into transmission. I have a self contained add on of an air conditioning unit installed in the Aft enclosed room (I call it the sun room), the one that has the slanted doors.
