I just surveyed a 54 Bertram that was in even better shape than that one with 20 hours on a full rebuild on both 1271’s, new paint, total redo of the interior And it sold for $350,000. It was beautiful

Someone put a LOT of hours and/or $$ into that......

It's a beautiful boat for sure. I'm scared to buy anything that had bad enough salt water damage that the electrical wiring needed to be replaced and the salt water pump out of the ER.

I called him to run a couple of questions at him and it didn't sound like he was ready, but he did sound busy. He never called, text, or messaged me back. ;) Maybe he changed his mind.

Maybe his new boat deal crashed.

Bertram is really nice, although some of the interior decorating is a bit over the top.

Agreed, The turned wooden bowl sink was a little much for my taste.

It was a bit much, but I believe not a Bertram issue. Possibly an owner/design issue.
However, easy to fix or ignore.
The ship will still fight the fish and seas very well.

Agreed. This had nothing at all to do wtih the original design. As I recall, Bertrams interiors were rather plain, from new.

Seems like a lot of boat for the money. Probably would be a great first fishing boat for someone just based on what was done. And you get the Bertram name to boot.

I kicked the tires for a while, but am a serious buyer currently and this owner is pretty unresponsive. Unsure what he is doing with the boat.

They are about to close on another boat and sent me some additional info. Giving the information around the grounding, would you buy if she survey out good? How will that effect resale long term?

Would like to know the cruising speed of this 54' Bertram with 12-71s versus a 55' Hatteras with 12-71s.

Eddie - So sorry about being unresponsive.

My Bertram 54' Big Buddy is on the C Dock at Bahia Mar ... New master AC going in next week, new zincs, bottom cleaned, freshly tuned 3 blade props are on and a spare set of freshly tuned 4 blades are in the cockpit.

We now have all of our stuff off the boat and we had the inside cleaned.

I have been busy with the new boat and a long list of freshen-up items.

I plan to send the Bertram 54' back to Daytona where I have a slip at Daytona Marina / Charthouse Restaurant on 10-18-2020.

We are now Hatteras owners. Our 2006 Hatteras 80' will be called "Mr. Hat"

Cruise is 18-20 knots (1850) depending on load and bottom clean.

Aha... So about identical to a 55' Hatt with the same 12-71 power. Thanks.

And the same as a 1978 Hatteras 60C with the same power.

I placed the Bertram 54' Big Buddy on Boat-Trader. Will be moving it back to Daytona Marina from Ft Lauderdale Yacht Haven in a couple of weeks.

Your boat is amazing! Good luck with the sale. The right buyer will come along!

Wait, maybe I should be interested... I have been looking at Hatteras, but this is pretty amazing.
Wish it was near me, would be nice to see how it compares to the other boats I have seen.
Maybe if I get a chance to get to Florida this year... I have been thinking about it.

Anyways, gorgeous boat!

Thank you Bob Quinn. The Big Buddy is still available. Will move it from Fort Lauderdale back to Daytona in December.

Thank you.
