Pascal is lending me his props to have as spares for a trip to the Bahamas. the question we have is that is there a shaft dia. difference between 8/71 naturals and 8/71ti? i have 2.00" dia shafts. i think the N has the same 2.00" shaft dia but different pitch.

I checked, they are 2" shaft. 28x 28 4 blades, assuming they're the original spec'd props... I never used them so i'm not sure if that's what they are... Pitch has to be different between N and TI but but they will get you home...
dont' come too early, we're going sailing this afternoon... i'll need a hand to get them out, will probably need to pull the dinette table and open the stbd hatch.

I believe a 1970s 53MY with 8V71TIs was spec'd with 2" shafts and stub shafts and 28X31 props.

you can just go into the engine room and measure the shaft.
Although I think 2" is the likely size for both.

Interesting on the pitch. Our '72 48 Yachtfish has 28X27 props. According to the owners manual that is what was originally put on the boat. Seems that a 53 would have less pitch than a 48.
